U16 Boys Basketball – Leinster Final
Our U16 boys’ basketball team had an unforgettable season, going unbeaten throughout the year and making history by reaching the Leinster final for the first time in the school’s history, representing the Midlands region. Their dedication, teamwork, and determination saw them overcome their opponents in the early rounds, proving themselves as one of the strongest teams in the competition.
The final, played in January in the Oblate Basketball Hall, was a hard-fought battle, but despite their best efforts, they came up against a stronger St. Aidan’s CS (Dublin) on the day and fell just short of victory. While the result wasn’t what they had hoped for, their journey to the final was an incredible achievement and a proud moment for the school.
A huge congratulations to the players and coaches for their hard work and commitment throughout the season. This historic run will surely inspire future teams to aim even higher!
Strong Season for 1st & 2nd Year Boys Basketball Teams
It has been an exciting season for the 1st and 2nd Year boys’ basketball teams, with both squads showcasing their talent and determination by reaching the semi-finals of their respective competitions.
The 2nd Year team put in a fantastic effort throughout the season but unfortunately fell short in their semi-final match. Despite the loss, they can be proud of their achievements and the progress they made as a team.
Meanwhile, the 1st Year team continued their winning streak, securing victory in their semi-final against a strong St. Kevin’s of Dunlavin, earning a place in the final. They now await their opponent, with the big game set to take place on Friday, March 7th, at St. Mary’s Hall, Portlaoise.
Best of luck to the 1st Years as they aim to bring home the cup!!!
